Meet the owners. Since 1999, we've specialized in the expert cleaning, repair, and preservation of handmade and antique rugs for clients throughout Portland and beyond.
Our founder, Randy Hyde, along with his wife, Valerie, built this company on deep knowledge of textiles and a hands-on appreciation for the weaving traditions of the world. After ten years working for other names in Portland's rug community, such as James Opie and Atieyh Brothers. Randy & Val founded Renaissance Rug Cleaning.

Since 2014 Randy Has been a member of ARCS and served as president, board member and educator for ARCS an organization dedicated to professionalism and knowledge in profesional rug care
International work Afghanistan
From 2020-2022 Randy worked as a technical consultant to the carpet industry in Afghanistan for US AID, DAI, ACEBA, and KCEC. His work was to improve carpet production, designs, colors, and reduce the environmental impact of new carpet weaving
Nepal Rugs
